About Maureen
When Mary Anne Houx announced her decision not to seek
reelection to the Butte County Board of Supervisors, I
decided to campaign for her seat to continue my public
service at the county level.
For nearly 30 years, Mary Anne has been a steadfast, hard
working and tireless public servant for Butte County.
I'm proud to have
Mary Anne's support and I look forward to
earning your trust in this new capacity.
During my seven years on the Chico City Council (two as
Mayor), I have consistently supported balanced budgets,
responsible land use planning and strong public safety
services. I will stand firm against development
encroachment onto our valuable agricultural land and
foothills, while supporting responsible, well planned
economic development that leads to a healthier and more
economically vibrant community.
I'm also very proud to have received the endorsement
of the
Butte County Farm Bureau, who endorsed me because I am
the only candidate for 3rd District Supervisor who will
consistently and vigorously protect our valuable
agricultural lands from development.
The people and communities of Butte County have given
much to me. As a public servant, I fully intend to live up
to the highest standard of integrity, openness, and work
ethic on behalf of the citizens of Butte County.

PUBLIC SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS & ATTRIBUTES:
- Supported balanced budgets throughout service on
City Council
- Helped reach an agreement for a successful
Automatic Aid Agreement for City/County fire
departments where the closest fire engine answers the
call
- Accomplished an agreement with the County for a
funding mechanism for State mandated nitrate clean-up
and support voluntary annexation when homes are
required to hook up to the sewer
- Initiated a Town/Gown committee with Butte College
and CSUC
- Initiated a formal City Council Veteran’s
Committee position
- Accomplished fiscal savings for the City by
ensuring that the City only paid Humboldt Road Burn
Dump cleanup costs on City property and not on private
property
- Reputation for being thorough, independent,
reasonable, and respected. Always prepared for
meetings and respectful of all citizens and their
ideas and suggestions
